Written by James Donna and Denny Craswell. Produced by Timothy D. Kehr. Hailing from Minnesota, the Castaways scored a #12 hit on the Billboard Hot-100 with this song in late 1965. Recognizing it for the garage-band classic that it is, the compilers of the “Nuggets” double album for Elektra Records in 1972, picked it for inclusion. The Castaways performed "Liar, Liar" in the 1967 beach movie “It's a Bikini World”; Debbie Harry performed it in the 1988 film, “Married to the Mob”.
