Sono state svelate tutte le nomination dei Critics' Choice Awards 2020, i riconoscimenti assegnati ogni anno dai principali rappresentanti della critica americana ai migliori film e programmi televisivi.
A dominare le nomination della 25esima edizione della kermesse è The Irishman, la nuova pellicola gangster diretta dal premio Oscar Martin Scorsese, che ha ricevuto ben 14 candidature tra cui quella per il miglior film, miglior attore a Robert De Niro e migliori attori non protagonisti ad Al Pacino e Joe Pesci.

A seguire troviamo C'era una volta a... Hollywood di Quentin Tarantino con 12 nomination e Piccole Donne di Greta Gerwing con ben 9 candidature. In lizza ci sono anche Storia di un matrimonio di Noah Baumbach, 1917 di Sam Mendes e soprattutto Joker di Todd Phillips che ha ricevuto 7 nomination.
Nella categoria delle serie TV a farla da padrone con ben 5 candidature ciascuna sono When They See Us, la miniserie di Netflix, #This Is Us di NBC e Schitt’s Creek, serie comedy dell'emittente Pop TV. Presenti poi Barry, Game of Thrones, Watchmen e Chernobyl, con 4 nomination, e Fleabag, Fosse/Verdon, The Crown, The Good Fight e Unbelievable.
La cerimonia di premiazione della nuova edizione dei Critics' Choice Awards si terrà il 12 gennaio 2020 sempre al Barker Hangar a Santa Monica, in California, e sarà trasmessa come di consueto su The CW.
