Ci sono eventi che valgono una stagione intera: la finale di Champions League, per esempio. O il Super Bowl. Anche per l'industria televisiva americana esiste qualcosa del genere: gli Upfront.
Per chi non lo sapesse, gli Upfront sono delle conferenze organizzate dalle emittenti TV in cui dirigenti, giornalisti e grandi inserzionisti si ritrovano per assistere alla presentazione del palinsesto della nuova stagione.
Un appuntamento cruciale per un'industria basata sulla pubblicità visto e considerato che è proprio in questa occasione che i grandi player acquistano spazi commerciali (esatto, ben prima dell'inizio della stagione).
Inziati addirittura il 25 febbraio con Nickelodeon, gli Upfront entreranno nel vivo settimana prossima con gli eventi organizzati dalle grandi rete televisive USA. Apriranno le danze NBC e Fox (11 maggio) seguite a ruota da ABC (12 maggio), TBS/TNT e CBS (13 maggio) per poi chiudere con The CW e NBC Universal Cable (14 maggio).
