A playthrough of LJN's 1989 licensed-based action game for the NES, The Uncanny X-Men. It took me a very long time to get to this point - years and years of playing, and it all started with my friend insisting that I have this cartridge. I was like, really?! I mean, back in 1990 or so, NES games weren't something that you just gave away. That should be have a pretty clear warning. I remember being thoroughly not impressed when I played it the first time, and it owned me almost instantly. It was one of those games that I only ever pulled out when I had finished my other, better games and wanted something different. I want to say that it's not as bad as people say... I mean, I see some merit in it. Not much, but more than, say, Home Alone. But it really is pretty bad. I would've never gone back to finish this had it not bothered me that I never beat it as a kid. I mean, I beat Battletoads when I was 9, so this should have been cake, right? ....no, not right. Tread lightly, and pray your temper can withstand some of the bs the game throws at you. I mean, seriously - you couldn't even beat it the way they shipped it without seeking some sort of outside help. You need a secret code to get to the last level, and it's supposed to be printed on the cartridge's label. That would've been fine, except that it left out one of the buttons in the directions, so without a magazine or a helpline, you'd never be able to finish the game. Fun, huh? _ No cheats were used during the recording of this video.
